STP & Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington

STP Chester Bennington     Stone Temple Pilots and Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Firing it UP in the studio while Scott Weiland is on … well, he’s gone.  Yes, it’s been a while since you’ve seen a post on soddermusic.com reporting on that which dwells outside the realm of Sodder-dom, but every once in a while I still get the itch that begs for a good scratching.

According to LoudWire.com Bennington took the stage at KROQ’s 2013 Weenie Roast alongside the 3 Bad-Ass STP members as they proceeded to rein rock down from the heavens upon a delighted and unexpected crowd.  I personally think it ranks high on the awesometer (ah-s-om-eter : an instrument devised to measure the overall awesomeness of a particular area or event) to have Bennington rock alongside that of STP and I’m not alone.  Dean DeLeo (STP Guitarist) was quoted as follows: “Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time. We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result.” (LoudWire.com).

It’s also been a life long dream of Chester’s to step into the position with STP as he admitted, “I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me. When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on new music with LP.” (LoudWire.com)

Go ahead and take a gander at the video below to see Bennington and STP in the studio, which is where Sodder will be coming July 8th (had to trhough that in):

Sodder Meets Movie

Pathos Movie     Sodder’s music has recently entered the possibility for being considered for placement in a film by Sailor Dog Films.  Awesomeness just seems to abide and we’re excited for the opportunity.  The film takes you into the horror genre of movies and the trailer looks nothing short of kick-ass.  Here’s the skinny on the plot: Movie Synopsis: When a group of pleasure-seeking, All-American jocks follow an alluring, but deeply disturbed bartender to a remote island, they unwittingly fall prey to her mission to rid the world of the evil that provoked her young brother’s suicide.

SODDER

Sodder’s Newest Member

"JamHub Topurbus Edition"

JamHub … Sodder’s newest member !!!!

The air was thick with emotion as the chest began to bruise from the inside while the heart fought to burst through as a caged animal in the throws of anger toward its captor.  Stares pierced the sweltering waves of heat given off by the rage of everyone in the room as beads of liquid frustration rolled down the brow and fell from the cheek.  Time began to slow as you could see each person’s lips contort as the mouths opened simultaneously to bring forth a wall of decibel destruction aimed directly at Caylon as the band, in perfect unison, screemed … “TURN DOWN!!!!”

But now … Caylon don’t have to listen to anyone telling him to turn it down and that is basically due to the awesomeness of the drummer.  Yes, once again, Brian has saved the day with his bountiful hunger to solve delimas and…his checkbook.  Now with the addition of Sodder’s newest electronical member no-one in the room has to say “turn down”, or even listen to the other band member.  The JamHub has given each one of us the power to turn up, turn down, or turn off anyone or everyone in the band.  By giving everyone their very own monitor feed JamHub gives each member the ability to fix their own mix level in their headset.

Yesterday was our first practice with the JamHub and I’ll have to say it was awesome!  Everyone really enjoyed fidgeting with their own mix while simultaneously ignoring Brian’s need for a vocal Mic; however, the practice was great and really allowed us to listen and critique on the fly.  Now brings day two of practice and actually laying down a recording of all the new songs for further dissection.

So while Sodder is hard at work on this wonderfully frigid Sunday morning, you can relax in your favorite lounge device, throw on some popcorn, heat up some hot cocoa, rent a movie, and clip your toe-nails …. cause this is day 2 of JamHub diaries !!!
